The Sideshow Sessions: Making of Video is a behind the scenes look at how the album came together.
The Sideshow Sessions is the 9th album released by Award Winning composer Don Bodin. The album contains a Suite of carnivalesque instrumental compositions featuring soprano Elif Savas.

"There's something fascinating about the circus and the carnival lifestyle. It's a lot like rock and roll, traveling around, performing.
So when I had the chance to write "carnivalesque" music I jumped at it
I met this artists, Alexx Henry, who created this amazing 3D capture technology. He showed me his concept of creating the worlds first 3D tattoo magazine App (Art And Skin - facebook.com/ArtAndSkinApp ) and asked me if I would write the music for it.
I was so excited about the project that I wrote over 50 minutes of music over the course of about 10 days. The only problem was, they only needed 6 minutes of music.
After I had delivered the music, it didn't take long till I was back working on some of the themes that didn't get used for the App and I started bringing in musicians to record on the tracks.
I brought in soprano, Elif Savas, who I have worked with a number of times before.
Elif is more than just an amazing opera singer, she is a film maker and a performance artist. I will have all the sheet music written out but I also write out a lot of notes about what her character is feeling and she runs with it.
Sometimes Elif will approach with a timbre that I had not thought of and it will adds so much to the music. It's a amazing to collaborate with musicians like her.
"The Sideshow Sessions" is the first album of my 12 Suites Project. 12 Suites is my attempting to produce and release a suite of music every month in 2014.
